Product Description
The Momentum reel series has proven to be the strongest and most dependable big fish fly reel on the water today. The drag system is built around Carbon Fiber technology. We chose this material because of its stiffness, strength, heat resistance, shock-dampening capabilities and infinite fatigue resistance. These are all properties of Carbon Fiber that help make the Momentum drag system the strongest and more dependable than any competitive fly reel. The Carbon Fiber used in the Momentum drag system is STRONG, measuring 700ksi (700,000 pounds of force per square inch) which is more than 10x the tensile strength of the aluminum frame that carries it. In fact, the Carbon Fiber used in the Momentum series is also vastly stronger than steel, and even titanium!
Each reel in the Momentum series is designed with a unique diameter and width to maximize the properties of drag consistency and quick line retrieval. With 6.3 square inches of effective drag surface, the Momentum series has three times the effective stopping power of every competitive reel tested. Simply stated - the Momentum is the strongest fly fishing reel on the market today. A triple redundancy drag system ensures dependability under the most demanding fishing conditions, and by adding in features like titanium drag components, a quick-release locking spool and water shedding grooves on the palming rim, you have the ultimate big fish fly reel. With a wide range of sizes available, the Momentum series is appropriate for any fishing application, and has quickly become a favorite for Spey anglers who will settle for nothing but the best.
